SF Day Celebrates National Know Your Classmates Day!

October 20, 2017

"Know Your Classmates is a curriculum, a campaign, and a national awareness day designed to create and nurture healthy and open relationships between classmates, particularly focused on middle school students, from the moment school starts in the fall." (https://knowyourclassmates.org)

San Francisco Day School was proud to participate in this worthwhile initiative, with several students embracing the day. Students in grades 5-8 had several ways to participate, depending on their comfort level: writing a pledge (see photo), sporting a sticker or bracelet, and/or gathering together at lunch with the upper school counselor, Jackie Richards.  Student Congress representatives also presented this Day to their peers during an upper school assembly and shared out this video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfHV4-N2LxQ&list=PLfgEbc0WKlRQjlwYykhjUATxIdhoFe9op&index=13&t=1s:  "Take a Seat, Make a Friend."

Thank you to all who participated to make SF Day a special and inclusive place to be.
