| Dear Parents,
Welcome to the first edition of the 2007-2008 Parents Association newsletter.
This year we are planning some exciting changes to the format and content which we hope will make the newsletter more readable and useful to all parents — not to mention breezy and entertaining.
Among the features you can look forward to seeing:
• THERE’S A NEW LINK: The PA newsletter will be a separate publication from the school newsletter, but there will be a link to it, both in the monthly SFDS newsletter and on the Parents Association pages of the website. One click and you’re here!
• ALL NEWS IS GOOD NEWS: Lively news stories about PA-sponsored events will keep parents up to date and informed. We’ll tell you what happened and how it happened — and how much fun we had making it happen.
• IT TAKES A COMMUNITY: Feature articles will focus on building and strengthening our community. Today, more than ever before, schools are the center of our family lives. The Parents Association strives to nurture this community.
• BRIEFLY SPEAKING: In our news briefs, we’ll make sure you know what’s coming up and why you should be involved.
• FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS: A monthly thank you section will spotlight all those parents who stepped forward to help out.
Parent volunteers play a role in more than 24 events and programs at the Day School. That’s a lot of parents and a lot of energy.
We hope the PA newsletter this year can report on these parent-led activities in a way that will make everyone feel that energy and want to share in it.
