SFDS Dads Take the Reigns
It is with great excitement that we announce that the Day School has named two fourth-grade dads to head up CultureFest, the School’s annual fundraising centerpiece.
Omari Patterson and Farzam Mostoufi will serve as co-chairs of the event, scheduled for Saturday, May 3.
Elaine Foppiano, who spent time cajoling potential frontrunners, said it finally occurred to her, why not ask a Day School dad to take on the job? Better yet, why not two Day School dads?
“I’m really excited!” she said. “I think they’ll bring a fresh perspective and new energy that we haven’t seen before.”
This is the first time that men have headed CultureFest in the history of the event, Elaine said.
The two men are “actively discussing” the theme of the event. They will likely unveil their choice in the next few weeks. Last year, the theme was Hawaii. Other themes in the past have included India, the Sixties, Cuba, and San Francisco (a year when CultureFest was held in AT&T Park, home of the Giants). |
