Library Policies

Hours of Operation: Mondays 8 to 3:00 3:00 to 5:00 - iMac Lab Tuesdays 8 to 5:00 Wednesdays 8 to 5:00 Thursdays 8 to 5:00 Fridays 8 to 4:00 Occasionally special events will cause the library to close. Alternate space will be provided with supervision.

The San Francisco Day School Library Media Center is available to our whole school community of students, parents, educators, and staff. Parents are encouraged to use the LMC for selecting, reading, and borrowing materials. We honor CAIS schools’ requests for interlibrary loans.

All materials are borrowed for one week at a time and may be renewed for a total of 4 weeks. Materials must be renewed in person with checked-out material in hand. If not renewed, material is considered overdue. Although we do not assess late fees, after 2 overdue notices a bill will be sent for replacement costs.New materials cannot be borrowed until overdue material is renewed, returned, or replaced.

All materials will be due three weeks prior to the end of school. Materials specifically requested by faculty for a later due date will be honored.

Any student with overdue materials in June will have his or her yearbook withheld.

On the final 2 days of school in June, materials may be borrowed for the summer, up to 5 items, by parents of Lower School students or by returning Upper School students. All materials borrowed over the summer are due within the first week of school in September.
