Zeus

By L.H.

When you see lightning in the sky, you might think it is a dreadful day, but what really is happening is that Zeus is throwing down Thunderbolts in frustration. Zeus was one of the most powerful gods that has ever set foot on mount Olympus. His thunderbolts were one of his great treasures, and his wisdom made him a fantastic leader.  The eagle and the oak tree represented Zeus’s symbols. As the chief god, Zeus was respected greatly throughout Greece and the other gods and goddesses. Zeus was the brother of Poseidon, god of the sea, and Hades, god of the under world. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades had many more brothers and sisters that lived on mount Olympus.  Zeus had many wives through his time, but one of the most well known was Hera. Hera was known as the queen god, and her relation ship with Zeus was on and off. Zeus was the god of weather and sky, and was all seeing and omniscient. He wanted his fathers crown as chief god. Cronos, a mighty titan was not willing to give up his crown without a fight. They fought for a long period of time, but in the end Zeus and his brothers and sisters came up on top. Zeus took his fathers crown as chief god. Zeus was the god of weather and the sky, and over powered many of his opponents. There is always a way for you to remember him. Look up at the sky on a stormy day and watch Zeus throw down his thunderbolts with hatred.
