The Chicken Doesn't Skate

I am reading a great book called The Chicken Doesn't Skate by Gordon  Korman. It is about a kid named Milo Neal. Milo buys a baby chick for the science  fair. Every kid in school loves it so they decide to called her Henrietta. People say Henrietta is a good luck charm.  The bad hockey team whose record is  0-5 wants Henrietta to be their mascot.  Milo does not no that Henrietta is
there mascot.

I thought that this book was a pretty good but that it does not have a  main character, other then that, I thought that it was a great!!! book. I liked that it was about a hockey team. I loved that it was about a chicken. I loved that it took place in Minnesota because Minnesota rocks. I liked that Milo
makes a big decision that changes the ending.

I like this book because it has a lot of hockey sentences. I like this  line ‚ "If the moose people from neptune invaded St. Martin during a big hockey game, they'd encounter zero resistance. Everybody would be at the ice rink." It also has a lot of show not tells in it as well, like this one, "The relief was so thick you could almost spread it on toast."

I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who likes ice hockey and who likes science. I think that kids ages 8-12 would like it best because it is funny and because it confusing. What kind of reader would like this book is a reader who can understand things pretty well. The best age to read this book would be about 10 years old. I thought that this book had the best ending in the world!!!!!
