The Secret Life of a Boarding School Brat is about a girl who goes to the Pocket Boarding School for girls. She writes everything in a Diary her Grandmother gave her. The girl (Lydia ) likes to roam around the school at night, or as she and the other characters in the book call it ‚"prowl the halls." One night when she is doing this she runs into the custodian. She soon finds out that he is a silly wizard and his name is Howie. He has set her a silly wizard task that she must complete. Lydia never really had any friends at the school and she thinks that Howie will be her only friend, but as the book goes on she gains friends... and happiness.

One of the few things that I do not like about this book is that sometimes it is kind of predictable. One of the things I like about this book is that it is really descriptive.

I like when Lydia says ‚"I was drawn by an invisible hand to the the tea shop window." I chose this quote because I thought it made sense, since Lydia is not a the kind of person who would usually like to go to a tea shop at her own will.

I would recommend this book because it has a lot of good details and the author really makes you feel like you know the characters in the book. I think this would be a good book for third and fourth graders. I do not recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense and action because they would get bored of this book. People who like realistic fiction wouldn't like this book because this story could happen but it probably would not.
