Song Lee and the ''I Hate You Notes''

One day Song Lee brought in something to share, it was dead flies.  She was collecting them with Harry and Doug two of her friends.  Everyone oohed and ahed.  When Miss Mackle the teacher demised them to there ssseats Song Lee saw a pink note on her desk.  She read the note and let out a little tear and pulled out her handkerchief and wiped her eye.  Then she threw the note away in the trash.  Harry and Doug rushed over to the trash and picked up the note but they could not tell who it was from.  All it said was ''Dear Song Lee I hate you from  then it had something that looked like yarn  then it said - n + m.' Harry and Doug stared at the puzzle and they figured out that it was from Mary.  Mary was always an enemy to Song Lee.

I think a strength of this book is that it teaches you a good moral.  The moral would be to not send notes that you would not like to receive.  The author held my interest through the whole book because I wanted to know what happened next. A weakness of the book was that the author could have put in more show not tell.  She also could have stretched out and added more details to the  book.

A quote that the author wrote in the book was ‘’the flied look like black dotes and sparkled white tissue.’’ I think this quote has a good show not tell.

I recommend Song Lee and the ‘’I Hate you Notes’’ because as I said before it has a good moral and it is a MAJOR page turner.  This book would be good for ages 7- 11.  I recommend this book to a reader that likes funny mysteries.
