| Akiko on Planet Smoo Akiko is a brave and daring girl who goes on a mission to rescue the prince (we don’t know his name). It all started when she got “the letter” it said, To Be Read By Akiko And No One Else inside it said, Dear Akiko: We are coming to get you. Meet us outside your bedroom window at 8:00. Don’t forget your toothbrush. Her pals Spuckler Boach, Gax, Poog, and Mr. Beeba join her on the dangerous journey. It’s very creative and tops most of the books I’ve read. Battles and questions all throughout the story. In some chapters go to slow, others you wish were longer. Sometimes I forget what the main idea. It has a great sense of humor. Here is a quote from the book. “I think Poog had it the worst. The Sky Pirates just tied rope all around him any way they could until he ended up looking like a ball of yarn.” It makes me think of a small round brown ball. It’s funny and descriptive. He doesn't just say “the sky pirates tied him up.” I think this book is good for ages 8 to 10. Also recomended for fourth graders. It’s wonderful for people who love strange aliens because you meet four of them. I would recommend it for young readers. It is by Mark Crilley. |
