Have you ever read The Chronicles of Narnia? Well if you have, this is the third book. The Horse and His Boy is about the amazing adventure of a fisherman's son (you are not sure the fisherman is really his father though.) The little boy tries to runaway on a horse. On his journey to "Narnia and the North" he finds a young girl who is running away too. But what happens when they get stuck in the city. The boy Òfalls in with the Narnia'sÓ TheÊNarnia King and Queen, mystique him for the prince. While the boy is staying at the kingdom, he hears voices, saying that they will capture the queen and take over Narnia. The little boy needs to get out of the kingdom, save the queen, save Narnia, all in less then one day.
The war, for Narnia's freedom, was not veary descriptive. I would have liked to know, how the fighters felt. I thought it was very alarming, when the boy over hears the king of the city and his sun talking about taking over Narnia
"Now here me Rabadash." said Aslan Ò Justice shall be mixed with mercy. You shall not always be an ass.Ó In this quote Rabadash, who wanted to capture the queen and take over Narnia, is turned into an ass or a donkey. I loved this quote because, there were so little words, but it explained so much.
I really enjoyed this book, therefore I believe other children could enjoy it too. I recommend The Horse and His Boy to children 7 or older, because it has elaborate language, and rich vocabulary. The Horse and His boy is complete fantasy. If you are ready for numerous and amazing adventures, this is the book for you!
