| More All Of A Kind Family by Sydney Taylor, More All Of A Kind Family is about a family of six kids-five girls named Ella, Charlotte, Hennie, Sarah, and Gertie, and one boy named Charlie. It is about all their adventures and life. They have hard times and easy time but no matter what happens to them they are always there for each other. They have two very loving parents who help them and try to make sure they are always happy. If it is a rainy day or a sunny day they can still think of things to do. They also have a uncle named uncle Hyman who is getting married to their favorite Lena who they call Lena the Greena. There life is going pretty well until they decide to move! The descriptions are wonderful!! The author makes you feel like you are really in the story. Her words are so touching and suprising. Some of the weaknesses are that the author uses the same words over and over again which makes it get a bit boring after a while. " If only it were curly like Henny`s," she added wishfully. I liked this quote because when the auothor said " she added wishfully", it gives me a really good idea what her tone was like and how much she really wanted what she was saying. I really recommend this book to people who enjoy reading a series of books. I think third graders to fith graders would enjoy this book because there are kids of all ages in it! Also a kid younger than this age might enjoy having an adault read it to them! |
