Suspensory Ligaments? Eyes? A Jedi Craves Not These Things
The suspensory ligaments are very thin fibers which conect the ciliary body to the eyes lens, allowing it to focus on objects. When the ciliary body contracts the tension in the suspensory ligaments is increased and it pushs or pulls the lens, to change its shape, tension, and focus. When the ciliary body flexes and relaxes, our focus is changed from near to far away. For example, when the ciliary body flexes, the tension is increased on the lens and it is changed into a flatter less convex shape. This makes it so the light isnt bent as much when it enters into the eye. This allows us to focus on objects that are far away. When the ciliary body relaxes, the lens is shaped into a more convex curved form. The light then bends more when it hits the eye. This allows us to focus on objects that are closer to us. The suspensory ligaments are the conecting tissue, which controll the lense. Without them, the ciliary body would have no way to control the lense, and so we would never be able to focos on something close, verses something far.
