When we were dissecting the cow’s eye, this is what we saw. The Lens is the gray part with spots on it. It is next to the blue part of the eye. It’s function is to focus light onto the retina. It magnifies light that passes through it. In real life it is perfectly clear. When we put it on a piece of paper, it magnified all of the writing behind it.
