8th Grade Cow Eye Dissection

Inside of each eye is the Retina, the outer most lining of the eye. There are two types of cells in the Retina, rods and cones. Rods are what allow us to see different shades of light and movement of light. Cones are what allow us to see color. By figuring out the frequency of a wave, cones are able to tell what color you are seeing. Without cones or rods, we wouldn’t be able to see color and different shades of black.
