The Hybrid Orchid

I did a specific flower called the Orchidaceae Laeliocattleya. The more common name for this plants species is called the Orchid. My specific orchid is a hybrid, which means it was made by humans. Orchids can be found throughout the world, my specific orchid is normally found near rivers or lakes. My orchid has a perfect pollinator design to attract butterflies. It has nectary guides that are purple, which attract the butterflies that pollinate it. The way my plant disperses its pollen is by tricking the butterfly. The nectar of the plant is so sweet that the butterfly tries to get it all. There is only one place for the butterfly to stand and that is on the lip of the plant. Once the butterfly tries to get all the nectar, it realizes that it has to move up the stem. On its way up, an object called the anther cap opens, and out comes a pollinea. The pollinea are a sac of pollen that is sticky and can attach to the leg of a butterfly. When the butterfly notices that it has the pollinea on its leg, it leaves, and goes to a different Laeliocattleya. This is how my plant can disperse its pollen. This relationship is called a symbiotic relationship, symbiotic relationship means that the plant and its pollinators relationship benefits both organisms. This is a brief overview of the Orchid.
