their education and reflect it in their work.
Students are encouraged to do more long-term projects and cooperative

Understanding of Concepts / Art Vocabulary
Students are becoming more familiar with the color wheel, art vocabulary,
and artist intentions.
Students are beginning to grasp artists' concepts and are expected
to articulate technical issues prior to and during their work process.
Students' set of references to the physical world is broader and they
are expected to gain a more sophisticated vocabulary to articulate their knowledge.
Critique / Critical Thinking
When looking at the work produced in the art studio, students' comments
need to show a level of connection and continuity.
Students are beginning to visualize the outcome of their work and to
determine its effectiveness as a means of expression.
Students are beginning to understand the difference between opinion
and judgment.
Work Space
Students are respectful in the art studio and they know how to utilize
the assistance of adults.
Students are expected to perform appropriate clean-up and know where
materials are available and stored in the room.
