Act now! Become a member of SFDS 411, the Parents Association’s latest endeavor to strengthen the parent community!
By joining this valued on-line network, we guarantee access to interesting, real-time Forums generated by you and other San Francisco Day School parents. We’ll even throw in Group Discussions so that parents with similar needs and interests (children in the same grade, school committees, sports, carpooling, etc.) can carry on separate conversations.
Sign up today (or any day) and you’ll receive the option to upload photos and videos featuring school-related activities.

To get started, follow these simple steps:
- Join SFDS 411 today by following this invitation link.
- Search the Forum section to read or start discussion threads that interest you. For example, check out the Tech Tips ‘n’ Talk Forum started by Jason Stone. Among his discussion threads, you will find one about Internet safety that lists resources parents can consult when talking to their children about their Internet use. Another thread features a New York Times article about the “texting generation.” Other Forums currently on the site include Parent Education, Camps & Classes and Classifieds.
- Join a Group! There are eight grade-specific groups and one group for New Parents. Want to add a group? Contact the SFDS 411 site moderator to make a suggestion.
- Invite your friends! There’s strength in numbers! Click on the site’s Invite tab and spur fellow SFDS parents to join the fun. Eighty-one people have signed up since the network’s soft launch in April. The Parent Association hopes every parent joins.
Still not convinced? What if we told you that the site also includes your own page featuring select personal information and a photograph? The ‘My Page’ section allows you to keep track of close friends who are members, manage an SFDS 411 inbox and write your own blog. But that’s not all. The SFDS 411 site links back to the School’s site, the School’s calendar, Week Ahead, SFDS eNews, and the Head of School Blog. A ‘Frequently Asked Questions’ section and site moderator round out the features that make the site fun and easy to use.
Note: For anyone not moved by a sales pitch generally reserved to sell Ginsu knife sets, all you need to know about SFDS 411 is its mission. Through SFDS 411, the Parent Association aims to facilitate and expedite communication among parents at SFDS on topics of interest to the parent community. The overarching goal is to strengthen and further build the School’s parent community. We can’t wait to see you on-line!
