Dear SFDS Community,

One of my favorite activities during the admission season is meeting all of the prospective families. I am fascinated to hear them talk about what they have heard about our school and the many ways they received their information. I feel strongly that the best way to get our story out to the San Francisco community is for San Francisco Day families to spread the word about their experiences at our school. We all have many opportunities to share our enthusiasm about our children’s education. As these opportunities arise at church or temple communities, civic or social organizations, neighborhood associations, or your child’s former preschool kindergarten information event, we hope you will be willing to share your experiences at SFDS. Please stop by the admission office for information you can take to share with these groups.

We are also looking to increase the visibility of our families who represent the diverse backgrounds of our school community at admission events. The events are:

Open Houses: Thursday, October 2; Wednesday, October 22; Saturday, November 1. Evening Open House events take place in the evening from 6:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday’s Open House takes place from 10am-1pm.

School Day Tours: Wednesday, November 5; Monday, November 10; Friday, November 14; Tuesday, November 18; Thursday, November 20; Wednesday, December 3; Friday, December 5; Tuesday, January 9, 2009; Thursday, January 11, 2009. School Day Tours take place in the morning from 8:30am-10:15am.

The training for these volunteer opportunities will take place on Wednesday, September 24 from 8:30-10:00am.
