Cafeteria
At the next meeting of PGLD our featured speaker will be YOU. Please join us in the cafeteria for coffee and stimulating conversation. We will follow up on ideas and plans put forth by David Jackson at last month's meeting. We will also discuss how we can help support the School in its endeavor to teach to every kind of learner. This is a valuable opportunity for you to share ideas that you believe are important to our group and important to the larger Day School community. We look forward to seeing you and hearing what you have to say.

Alemany Farm Work Day
Farm in San Francisco?? That’s right!—Located near the Alemany farmers market on Alemany Blvd near 280-there’s an urban farm where fresh organic fruits and vegetables are being grown. The farm is maintained entirely by volunteers and the produce is sold at very low prices to communities where access to healthy foods is limited.
We are hoping to build a relationship with this group to develop ongoing, deeper volunteer opportunities for our families and school------ so please sign up! |

The Parenting Cafes are Back!
Having been well received their first year, the cafes facilitated by school counselors Leah Rosencrantz and Michael Pastor are back!
The informal cafes are an opportunity for parents to come together and discuss issues that are current in their lives with one another and the school counselors. In past cafes we've discussed internet use, balance of extracurricular activities, developmentally appropriate expectations and consequences, friendship patterns, etc.

Giving Tree Gift Drive
November 26 - December 7
This holiday season, the Day School is getting involved with City of Dreams, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping at-risk youth build brighter futures through mentorship and youth development. We are participating in the Day of Giving which is their annual event that aims to deliver 700 children gifts, trees, decoration and support.
We will be hosting a toy bin in the School's library from November 6th through December 7th. If you would like to participate, take a tag off the toy bin with a name and toy request. Purchase the gift and return the gift with the tag attached to the toy bin before noon on Wednesday, December 7th. For more information, please contact Alicia Nogales @ 759-1435 or afippern@hotmail.com.
