Grandparents & Special Friends Day
By Third Grade Reporters
On Grandparents and Special Friends Day, we invited our grandparents to school. We gave them tours of the School. Then we showed them how we call ourselves to web, our morning meeting, and greet Mr. Bowman in Swahili and say the web words. There was a big assembly that they all came to and watched. Some of the people in our class are Dolphin Singers. When they performed the rest of the class stayed in the classroom.
At the end of the assembly everyone went back to their kid's classroom and either took their kids home or went home themselves. The rest of the kids either were dismissed with Upper School or went to carpool and AEP. Then we all headed of for ski week!

On February 15, 2008 we had Grandparents and Special Friends Day at SFDS. First the Third Grade showed the grandparents and special friends their poems and other writing and they commented on the writing to the guests. Then we took them to the gym and had a performance. The kindergarteners, first graders, Lower School Chorus, Upper School Chorus and fourth graders performed. It was spectacular.
