This list was compiled in previous years by fifth graders as part of the Real Life simulation project. To put a more socially conscious spin on traditional holiday shopping, students discussed the meaning of social responsibility with their families and the class before doing research on companies, non-profits, and charitable organizations that fit their personal definitions. This list was then used to support a Real Life class project, though some students also chose to use the resources in their actual holiday shopping outside of school.
