Two Positions Available Immediately
Learning Resource Department Assistant Teacher, K-4th Grades
Learning Resource Department Assistant Teacher, 5th-8th Grades
Full-Time, Non-Exempt positions

San Francisco Day School is seeking two individuals for the School’s Learning Resource Department. These individuals will be under the general supervision of the Learning Resource Director and report directly to Learning Resource Lead Teachers for the appropriate grade levels. The LRD Assistant Teachers will collaborate in the planning and execution of a differentiated curriculum in all areas working cooperatively with Lead Teachers and grade level teams.

Responsibilities and Duties include:
Learning Resource Assistant teachers will design, teach and evaluate curricular units that include differentiated instruction for diverse learners. They will develop units based on their own particular areas of interest and expertise. They will administer and analyze student assessments, develop learning profiles and educational plans.

The successful candidate will communicate regularly with parents. They will attend Parent Teacher Conferences, weekly faculty meetings, and participate in faculty in-service days. They will coordinate with and participate in field trips and the School’s Outdoor Education program.

Learning Resources Assistant Teachers will be expected to assume responsibility for classroom set-up and classroom management structure, as well as lunch, playground, dismissal and arrival duties. It is expected that these individuals will attend various school functions throughout the year, including parent potluck dinners, performing arts programs, field days and evening events.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a committed career in teaching, with a minimum of two years experience in a classroom, as a teacher, intern or student teacher. A teaching credential is preferred, including specific training and experience in multi-sensory, research-based instructional methods, relevant to the filed of learning disabilities.

The individual must have ability to relate well with people; relate to the difficulties and concerns related to academic and cognitive differences. The successful candidate must maintain a high level of integrity with regard to matters which may be considered confidential in nature. Ability to work collaboratively is essential. An interest in a communicative, collaborative environment where feedback and mentoring are important components is expected.
